THE JUDGING CRITERIA & PROCESS

All entries will be assessed through a transparent and independent judging process. Judges have been drawn from reputable industry bodies, professional institutions, and sector experts. The judging panel will operate independently of Mitsubishi Electric.

Judges may request clarification or supporting evidence to ensure consistent and fair evaluation.

After submissions, a 1st round review will be conducted by the judging panel in order to select three projects to go forward on the shortlist for the final award consideration. Entries will be reviewed against clearly defined criteria, including:

INNOVATION

The extent to which the project demonstrates original thinking or a novel application of Mitsubishi Electric products, including innovative system design, integration, controls strategy, or delivery approach that improves performance, efficiency, sustainability, or user outcomes beyond standard practice.

SUSTAINABILITY & CARBON REDUCTION

The degree to which the project delivers measurable reductions in energy use and carbon emissions through efficient system design, low-carbon technologies, intelligent controls, and alignment with recognised sustainability targets, standards, or net-zero objectives. Circularity will also be considered.

TECHNICAL EXECUTION

The quality and rigour of the project’s engineering, installation, commissioning, and optimisation, demonstrating correct product selection, compliance with design intent, reliable operation, and a high standard of workmanship and system performance.

BUSINESS AND STAKEHOLDER IMPACT

The extent to which the project delivers tangible value for the client and wider stakeholders, including improved operational efficiency, occupant comfort, usability, lifecycle value, and effective collaboration between project partners.

INTEGRATION

How effectively the project integrates multiple systems and Mitsubishi Electric product ranges into a cohesive, well-coordinated solution, including seamless interaction between equipment, controls, and building systems to optimise overall performance and outcomes.
